Google AdSense is a program which is run by the Google Inc.It enables the website owners to display the text, image, video and rich media ads, when some one clicks on those ads the website owner gets revenue based on the CPC of the ad.Google pay the website owners after there is $100 in their AdSense account through check and other mediums.

The CPC (Cost Per Click ) of the ad means that how much the advertiser have pay the Google for the advertisement, out of which Google share 62% to the website/blog owners.

Suppose the CPC of the ad is $1 per click then in 100 clicks the Advertise have to pay $100 to the Google which in turns pay $62 to the website owners where the ad would be displayed.

So while making a blog or website we must keep CPC in our mind and make sure the keyword have enough monthly searches.

Google uses its Internet search technology to serve advertisements based on website content, the user's geographical location, and other factors. Those wanting to advertise with Google's targeted advertisement system may enroll through AdWords.

AdSense has become a popular method of placing advertising on a website because the advertisements are less intrusive than most banners, and the content of the advertisements is often relevant to the website. Many websites use AdSense to monetize their content; it is the most popular advertising network.

AdSense is important for providing advertising revenue to small websites that do not have enough resources to develop advertising sales programs and sales people. To put ad on a website with the webmaster put a script provided to them from AdSense.AdSense publishers can put only 3 ad units per page.

Some webmasters maximum their revenue using the following efforts:
  1. They use a wide range of traffic-generating techniques, including but not limited to online advertising.
  2. They build valuable content on their websites that attracts AdSense advertisements, which pay out the most when they are clicked.
  3. They use text content on their websites that encourages visitors to click on advertisements. Note that Google prohibits webmasters from using phrases like "Click on my AdSense ads" to increase click rates. The phrases accepted are "Sponsored Links" and "Advertisements".

We already discussed that the source of the AdSense income is the AdWords program.A diagram describing AdSense shown below.
