The tablet will be first given to the students through their colleges.The Colleges have to approach the Datawind (company who is developing it ) for booking order.They may call their tool free number 1800-180-2180.Although their number busy most of the time.For any query go to their official website www.aakashtablet.com or http://www.aakashdatawind.com/.
For the general public you have to wait till the tablet available in online and offline stores in India.Most likely they will be available around November 20.
What is the difference between the Aakash and the Ubislate7?
The tablet will be sold to the public by the name Ubislate7.It has similar feature like that of the Aakash.The both just are the same but the Ubislate7 will have the regular sim card support so we can make phone calls,use messaging,use GPRS like we do in a Mobile.While the student version (Aakash) have only Wifi support but no regular sim card support.
Is the tablet is 3G enabled?
The tablet has inbuilt sim slot which will be used for the GPRS,but it is not 3G enabled.Since it have USB slots so any 3G enable external USB modem can works easily.
Which Softwares and apps will be supported by the tablet?
Since it has Android 2.2 operating system so it will support almost all major apps.We can use it for editing our documents,media,and of course for internet browsing.
